Closing the House

• Take in all furniture from outside.  Clean off the round table and chairs.  Put the round table in the kitchen.  Put the chairs from the backyard in the dining room.  Put the Adirondack chairs in the shed.  Put the porch furniture in the hall.

• Take down hammock. Leave frame in basement. Leave cloth hammock rolled up in downstairs bedroom on floor next to bed.

• Take in all bicycles, barleys, wagon, and garden cart.  Put the trike in the shed.

• Take in cornhole boards and put in the basement.

• Unplug the solar lights. These lights can stay outside.

• Close and lock all the windows.  Don't forget to check basement windows.

• Empty out all refrigerators and unplug the two smaller refrigerators. Turn off the breaker in the basement for the large refrigerator. Leave refrigerator doors open.

• Take propane tank off the grill and leave both propane tanks outside the shed in a well-ventilated area.  It is not advisable to store propane tanks in an enclosed area.

• Put the gas grill in the shed and cover it with the grill cover.

• Put blue recycle bins in basement.

• Hose off garbage cans and put in the basement.

• Put hoses in the basement.  Turn off water in basement to both outdoor faucets.

• Be sure doors to the basement are locked.

• Remove back screen door and leave in the parlor.

• Put a block of animal poison in the far corner of the shed.

• Clean the oven.

• Take the kitchen waste baskets out of the cabinets and wipe out all crumbs and debris.  Clean the waste baskets and put back in the cabinets.

• Wipe off all the kitchen cabinet doors.
